Grace to love.....

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD,
Maker of heaven and earth.   Psalm 121:1-2
 In the words of that 1960's song
.."What the world needs now is love, sweet, love....no not just for some but for everyone"...
 To love unconditionally as God does, that's a mountain!!  But nothing is impossible with God.
How can we love:
                                 the unlovable
                                 the ungodly
                                 the atheist
                                 the criminal
 and others who get under our skin,or  people who just rub us the wrong way or even people who enjoy pressing our buttons...
  We are called to love God and others. " By this all men shall know that you are My disciples... that you love one another.  John 13:35
  Its a big deal, to love. Because, first, we affect others, we have clout!!!
. Plain and simple. Our words, and how we treat others shapes others view of themselves and God. 
  Love is an interesting word. It is a word with many types of meanings. Love for your mom, or dad, love for your children, love for your mate. Love for animals, or things like food,nature your job etc.
  In this instance this kind of love is agape love. Love that IS... no matter, the circumstances. That is a BIG order. We as  people are flawed, sinners, as God has shown us in his Word.
   God is not a sinner, and he loves us perfectly. Our desire as believers is to be like Jesus. To be transformed into His likeness so others will see and come to the place of salvation, themselves and ultimately glorify God.
  How do we do this? Well, we pray and ask God to show us how to love. We learn to wait on the Lord in our times of praying and seek his grace.We ask God to show us how to love.And ask for His  Grace to see things from His point of view. We read his Word, how did he treat different people he came into contact with.? The woman at the well, Zaccheus, the Centurian, Mary Magdeline, and others.
   As believers, we again are called to love, to be like Jesus, in essence, get ourselves out of the way, and put others first;. with God leading,and  helping us along, we can ascent any mountain especially this one!

 Recently, our Golden Retriever, Angel,hurt herself. Somehow, she ended up with a puncture on her neck. I noticed it because she was scratching her neck and there was blood on the floor.    I investigated and found a wound. "What happened girl that you have this hole here?" and looking at it closer, I said to her "you cannot be scratching this, or it will get infected." It was already looking pretty nasty. She had a compulsion to keep scratching so I decided that a trip to the farm store was in order. Thankfully they had exactly what I had in mind. There, hanging on the wall was a large assortment of cone shaped covers that could be fitted around her neck. Here, I felt was the answer, to keep her from effectively scratching her neck.  So, once I got back home, I went to her and put it on her. I can only imagine what she must have thought. Soveriegn Citizens

 One day my husband and I were watching youtube. We do that every now and then to see news, or comedy or instructions on fixing something.  Anyway, when we did that, an array of suggestions came up. This time a sovereign citizen video came up. We wondered "what is that about?" and clicked on the video. In the video, it started out with a police officer walking up to a car that he had pulled over for a traffic violation. The driver rolled down the window and ask the officer, "Why did you stop me??"  The officer replied," you were speeding, going 50 and 35  mile per hour zone."  Then the the officer added, " I need to see your driver's license and proof of insurance please." Driver: " I don't have  to show you anything; I don't have a driver license or insurance but I don't need either one." Police officer:" Yes, you do ma'am.You need to show me your driver's license and proof insurance. It's the law....

The BEST Part of Waking Up is.....

 The first thing I do after waking up and brushing my teeth is trudge to the kitchen and start filling the coffeepot with water and putting coffee in the basket to brew.  After a couple of minutes I fill my cup. For some reason my coffee is never hot enough, it looks right, but as I touch it to my lips, nope...  it has the mere essence of coffee, but is not anything I would drink or offer to anyone else in that blah state. So I nuke it in the microwave for 60 seconds and voila, it is heated to that perfect temperature that smells and awakens all my senses.   Lukewarm coffee is not my cup of tea. and I would venture to say, that this is most everyone elses feeling about it too. This morning I read in Revelations 3:15-20. It is the last book in the Bible written by John. It talked about how God feels about us as believers and being "not hot or cold" but lukewarm.
