Practice,practice,practice

It's interesting to me that if we want to get good at anything, we have to make it a priority.

Whether it is  learning how to play a musical instrument, learning a different language, or becoming a  great cook! There are many things we can learn if we intentionally take the time to master  them.

In another sense practicing can be learning a reality we never knew before. ..

I am referring to the FACT that God is always with us.

Gods Word tells us that He is always with us.

" I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."  Matthew 28:20

In another verse it says "...for He has said, I will never [under any circumstance] desert you[nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you.  Hebrews 13:5b Amplified Bible

These are just 2 examples of Gods Word telling us a fact. God is always with us.

How do we, as believers, come to take in that reassuring and comforting fact?  Years ago, when I was still a new believer, a friend introduced me to this wonderful, effective idea. I have thought about it and

"practiced" it until its reality was true in my mind.

The concept was "practicing the presence of the Lord." It was a simple practice.

 Easy to do.

I could simply specify an empty chair in any room, where ever I was, and imagine Jesus being in that chair. Another place could be in my car, in the seat next to me. Those are a couple of ways to "see" with spiritual eyes the fact that Jesus is always with me.

This might be a silly idea to some, but, like the necessary  air we breathe,

that is around us all the time,

 and we cannot survive without,

Jesus is sustaining us also, and it is good to realize this.

It changes the way we do things,

what we say,

 how we relate to others.

Not in a negative way, but in many positive ways.

When I am experiencing an issue that is not easy, I know I am not alone, and I also know that Jesus is supportive of me,

 my best friend,

my Savior,

Who always steers me in the right direction.

When I am afraid, due to maybe some bad news, I have the knowledge that I can do all things through Christ, He IS with me, in that instance,

and  He will see me through.

Good news, refining circumstances, wonderful days, and not so great times, all are experienced with the reality of, I am never alone to carry the load. Jesus is seeing me through.

"Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and My burden is light."  Matthew 11;29

Jesus said this.

So to be yoked with Jesus, is quite a blessing and privilege!  We need to realize, and practice the fact of His being in our lives with us at all times. Its always good, to realize we are never alone.

So next time you take on a new hobby or skill or any endeavor or situation , I hope you too will realize you have the Lord with you to see you through and help you accomplish all you need for that purpose and His glory!
