Can I get a witness...

" For though the Lord is high, and lifted up, yet He has respect to the lowly [bringing  them into fellowship with Him], but the proud and haughty He knows and recognizes only at a distance."
                                                                                                                                     Psalm 138:6

Gods Word tells us many things about Him. This verse is pretty astounding when you think of it.
As Big and as Awesome as God is,( take a look at any creation, and the Universe, and the Black Hole for example)...   He is intimately close to the little guy. Be it in stature or just the fact he is humble.
Humility is a gift, because it makes one forget about oneself, and  it gives way to thoughts and appreciation  of the greatness of others, and even is happy😊for THEIR successes.  It also brings about thoughts of others needs, and opens ones heart to Gods perspective.
God is others oriented. Pride is self oriented.

So, in Gods economy humility is much more valuable than self seeking pride.
We all, pretty much know there is a good kind of pride. The pride that put forth the best effort in whatever we are doing, even looking at what we have done and being very satisfied with the outcome.

The pride I am talking about is the kind that says, " I have this all figured out." I don't need anyone telling me anything. ( kinda like most teenagers,)[me included, years ago] As a parent, I saw this in  my children from time to time.   I thought, yeah, we know, BUT, this is why you have parents, to guide you on some things you just DON"T know.
I think of those days and chuckle, because in little ways, my grown children have come to know that Mom was right, it would have been smart to listen. But I do believe we can all relate to that teenager, who knew it all. We have all been there in one way or another.

As  adults,  if we are honest, we  really haven't changed that much .We still tend to think, "oh yeah, I got this! I got it figured out. I have many years of life under my belt, and this problem is not that hard to figure out. "  And sometimes yes, we did well with a decision.  But  other times, we find we made yet another wrong decision. And it hurt us.

Some of us are so stubborn we make the same mistake over and over and over again. Then we blame someone, or even God for the outcome.

God is our Heavenly Parent, Who directs our lives, and helps with our decisions if we will but only listen to Him, through His Word, ( Proverbs addresses many things about life that are very contrary to our worlds advice) and through prayer, and even through tried and true godly friends,
At times I do believe He is watching and waiting for us to look to Him for the answers that will help us make great choices with wonderful outcomes. But many times we go forward with what we want without seeking His wisdom.
Yes, it takes patience, and faith in His Love and Wisdom, but like my grown children, I have found many times, after trusting Him,  that God DOES know what He's talking about!!

I was amazed when I first surrendered my life to God, how many questions His Word, the Bible, answered. So, so many things.
Things that are important. Issues that will not change.

In our ever changing world, everything seems to be relative. But I don't believe that lie.
There are truths that will never change.  Truths that will change your life. Truths that begin and end with God.

What are those truths?? Read Gods Word not just once, but as the guide for your life, it will give you strength, peace and wisdom for all those things in life that you will face. And if you use it as intended, wisdom will be your guide; and many times, God will use what you have learned to  guide you in the situations you will face in your life.

There is also the issue, that"so and so did this and it seems that it worked out just fine for them. Look at them , it didn't hurt them, they are doing great!!" I can only say, that Gods Word again has an answer when we like to throw that one out there.... " You say, I am allowed to do anything, -but not everything is beneficial."
In another version it states, "All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful." 1Corinthians 10:23
Common sense is not wisdom. Common sense is common but not always right for that individual.
Follow you heart they say. That will get a person in trouble. Our heart wants what it wants a lot of times disregarding a smart move.

So again, at the risk of repetition, allow God to be your "go-to" and His Word be your counsellor and find out that you will ultimately always have the BEST outcome from the most Loving  and Wise Source.
