Freedom isn't free...
" We give thanks to God always for you all, mentioning you in our prayers...
1 Thessalonians 1:2
It's a really tough, reality, this week. Many of our troops are being deployed yet again. It is hard for them, and their loved ones. Yes, they signed up for this, and for that I am truly grateful and in awe. I have never been in the military, but I can see even as a civilian, that becoming a soldier is quite a sacrifice.
These men and women are defending our freedom. They are on their way across the world to help us to keep our freedoms, here in the U.S.A.
It's quite a privilege to live in this country. It's also easy to take that for granted. We are so blest in this nation of ours. We have everything here, and we have abundance.
It might not seem so great for those who live from paycheck to paycheck, but even for them, it beats living in most other parts of the world, We have so much, and for those who do not have so much here in our country, there are so many helps to get them through many kinds of rough spots.
Our economy is booming, there are jobs everywhere, if someone wants to work., there are many choices. Yes, we DO have problems here, but we are not war torn like other countries. The war is not here. We don't have bombs going off in the middle of our cities. It happened on 911, here, but because of our military, it hasn't happened again.
This freedom is such a blessing. We can do pretty much what ever we choose within the laws . We have freedom of speech, religion, and freedom to live a good life with so many things . In essence that good life that we live came about because of our forefathers fighting a war in our countries beginning,
This freedom came with a high price. the price was Human lives, and over the years, we have remained free, costing even more and more lives.
Many men and women have arrived back home, not the way they left. Alive, but severely wounded both physically and emotionally. These who were once here just like us, going about their daily lives in a free country.
They chose this, for their country even though they knew that their lives were on the line, and their lives would change dramatically when they put on their uniforms and started down that road.
In times past our men and women went proudly to defend our freedoms, and to this day they do the same,
We have a GREAT military, filled with great men and women who are again fighting to keep us free.
They are our REAL HEROES, and I believe they are counting on us, in another way, as we send them off... they have asked us to PRAY., and I believe, that we here at home should be doing just that, and CONTINUE to pray for them till they come back home.
This is a proud and strong military, yet they are individual men and women, someone's husband, someone's wife, son or daughter or grandson or granddaughter, They are OUR family.
Pray for them. It is the very BEST thing you can do. Pray safety ,and resilliance and strength to be on top of this and dare I say, pray for a miracle that they will come home whole as they deal with the things they must face over there, pray....and be thankful for them and their courage, and finally pray for peace for them and for the Middle East.
