Immanuel," God with us" !!

  It's amazing to me that God does things the way he does.  The Christmas Story is fascinating! In all the religions of the world, man tries his best to reach up to God. Christianity is the only religion where God came down to us. He knows us and desires US. His love is so astounding and all  encompassing, that he brought it to us in a baby.
  Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us. Precious baby, in a hard cold world. God had the answer to our sin, and still has the Answer for us today. Jesus is his name.
   Christmas is a wonderful reminder of that first best gift. We love to give gifts and receive them and we love the festivities and the looks our children have when they see that lighted tree with a gift under it for them. We love this season! Gifts and giving. We look and look for that perfect gift for our loved ones. 
  God gave  each of us the perfect Gift in Jesus. And because of his love ,Christmas came to us.  God continues to give to us. Each and everyday, we can see that love, if we will just look around us. We have  our health, family, and friends , and glorious creations all around us to behold. These  are some of the things that continue to show us his sustaining love.
 In a life where things are complicated  and everything is relative and answers elude us, there is Jesus, who  came to save us from ourselves. He is The Way, and the Truth and the Life. He is our example. His Word teaches us how to live.  To be like Jesus is to find a life that is fulfilling.  Life is not easy at times, but, it is a life where he guides us and helps us to know that we are not on our own. We don't face the day alone. And when we face difficulties we can talk to God. We can be assured because he is listening, his Word tells us:
. " I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down and  to listen. I will pray as long as I have breath.:"   Psalm 116:1-2
  He came down, left his heavenly  throne to be with us, to show us his love, and to how to love each other.
   It's really Christmas every day, because Jesus is with always with us.

 Recently, our Golden Retriever, Angel,hurt herself. Somehow, she ended up with a puncture on her neck. I noticed it because she was scratching her neck and there was blood on the floor.    I investigated and found a wound. "What happened girl that you have this hole here?" and looking at it closer, I said to her "you cannot be scratching this, or it will get infected." It was already looking pretty nasty. She had a compulsion to keep scratching so I decided that a trip to the farm store was in order. Thankfully they had exactly what I had in mind. There, hanging on the wall was a large assortment of cone shaped covers that could be fitted around her neck. Here, I felt was the answer, to keep her from effectively scratching her neck.  So, once I got back home, I went to her and put it on her. I can only imagine what she must have thought. Soveriegn Citizens

 One day my husband and I were watching youtube. We do that every now and then to see news, or comedy or instructions on fixing something.  Anyway, when we did that, an array of suggestions came up. This time a sovereign citizen video came up. We wondered "what is that about?" and clicked on the video. In the video, it started out with a police officer walking up to a car that he had pulled over for a traffic violation. The driver rolled down the window and ask the officer, "Why did you stop me??"  The officer replied," you were speeding, going 50 and 35  mile per hour zone."  Then the the officer added, " I need to see your driver's license and proof of insurance please." Driver: " I don't have  to show you anything; I don't have a driver license or insurance but I don't need either one." Police officer:" Yes, you do ma'am.You need to show me your driver's license and proof insurance. It's the law....

The BEST Part of Waking Up is.....

 The first thing I do after waking up and brushing my teeth is trudge to the kitchen and start filling the coffeepot with water and putting coffee in the basket to brew.  After a couple of minutes I fill my cup. For some reason my coffee is never hot enough, it looks right, but as I touch it to my lips, nope...  it has the mere essence of coffee, but is not anything I would drink or offer to anyone else in that blah state. So I nuke it in the microwave for 60 seconds and voila, it is heated to that perfect temperature that smells and awakens all my senses.   Lukewarm coffee is not my cup of tea. and I would venture to say, that this is most everyone elses feeling about it too. This morning I read in Revelations 3:15-20. It is the last book in the Bible written by John. It talked about how God feels about us as believers and being "not hot or cold" but lukewarm.
