The Gift of Grace

"For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man,Jesus Christ." Romans 5:17
We can live a life of Grace. Through faith and surrender to Jesus Christ.

Years ago, I saw the movie, " The Hiding Place". It was the true story of Corrie Ten Boom, and her
survival from  one of the concentration camps she was held in during World War 2.
I read her book with the same title years later.
What astounded me, more than Corrie's personal experience, was her sister, Betsy.
Betsy was a picture of Gods grace, before the war, and during her imprisonment at the death camp.
Corrie, learned a lot from Betsy, just by watching her response to situations in their lives. Betsy's one and only response to everything, was love.
The death camp was a very cruel place. Many atrocities were committed there. Betsy always would
exude concern for her captors and would tell Corrie that they must not lose faith, and to pray for those Nazi soldiers. Betsy's faith drove her. Her concern for the eternal destiny of her captors drove her. Through sickness and pain, she never waivered. Only God knows the effect of those unwaivering prayers. It may seem to many, that her prayers were for naught. But, I don't think so. She trusted God with those prayers. And eternity will show the outcome!
Corrie hated those men and women!!  But Betsy never did. And she kept praying for them, even though they continually made their captivity a living hell.
Betsy died in the camp. But her example left a huge impact on Corrie.

Corrie survived the concentration camp. And later became an author and a preacher of love for all mankind. Corrie traveled the world preaching Betsy's message about Gods love and grace for all sinners.
Betsy surrendered her will to God when she became a Christian.  God's grace to love the unlovable came to Betsy. He prepared her heart long before she became a prisoner of the Nazis.  That grace is available to all who will believe and  surrender our will to Gods.
We probably won't experience the cruelty that Betsy did, but there are many instances in our own lives when we will have to forgive others, for whatever wrong they have done to us.
" Where sin abounds, grace abounds more..." Romans 5:20 That is talking about Gods grace to forgive us. We need Gods grace of forgiveness. If we remember how God forgives us, how can we not forgive the others in our lives.
This Christmas Season give the gift that was so lavishly given to us, Grace to love everyone!
